Event Description

We all know the Bay Area has tons of software meetups, but where's the hardware love? We're bringing together anyone who interested in building a business in the world of physical products: from company boards to organic soap. The purpose of the group is to start to build the hardware startup community by: bringing people together, bringing in experts in the fields of hardware & form entrepreneurs who've done it before, and also to build a better picture of the hardware scene so we can all find the resources we need to make this happen.

The team at OpenROV is inviting us to a Q&A event they're doing at TechShop SF on Tuesday, July 24th. OpenROV is an open source robotic submarine designed to make underwater exploration possible for everyone. They've built a great community as well: from their vibrant forum on OpenROV.com to their Kickstarter getting funded within hours. They've done a lot we can all learn from and are very close to the pulse of the maker and hardware movements - so I think it'd be a great opportunity to discuss all things robotics, open source hardware, and Kickstarter.
