Which is More Legible Sans or Serif?

I also remember reading that Helvetica is very legible largely because of the heavy use it has enjoyed over the years. Folks are just use to it.

You would probably also like Helvetica's precurser Neue Haas Grotesk It has a wonderful roundness.
